Specialised Rovo mode in Bodyfriend Phantom Rovo massage chair

Knowledge

The Phantom Rovo is an exceptional massage chair from Bodyfriend – a Korean technology brand renowned for its highly advanced, design-led devices that are hard to pass by. And while the massage chair proves the rule, already standing out from the rest of the models in the range at the outset, its real superpower lies in the innovative leg massagers, which you will learn more about in a moment.

The power of independent leg massagers

The movement of the leg massagers in the Phantom Rovo massage chair was inspired by the movement performed during cycling. The left and right ‘legs’ of the chair move separately, making a whole new range of work possible here – asymmetrical stretching. This innovative feature, introduced to the massage chair market by the Bodyfriend brand, allows stretching and relaxation of different muscle groups, including the deep muscles

Innovative stretching in Rovo mode

The Rovo mode of the Phantom Rovo consists of 8 specialised stretching programmes, during which independent massaging chair leg massagers are used.

  1. Iliopsoas Relaxation

The iliopsoas is a core muscle that stiffens easily, especially in people who spend a lot of time seated, such as office workers or students. The unique static stretch effectively relaxes the muscles in the hip area, eliminating tension and improving hip mobility.

  1. Cycle Mode

During a massage in cycle mode, you will feel like you are performing a cycling exercise, except that the massage chair will do all the work for you. The massage in this programme focuses on the lower body and aims to increase the flexibility of the limbs by relaxing the muscles around the knees and hips.

  1. Hamstrings Relaxation

Nowadays, more and more people are complaining of stiffness in hamstrings located at the back of the thighs. This is not surprising; a sedentary lifestyle or, on the contrary, excessive physical exertion make these muscles stiff. Specialised stretching exercises used during a dedicated massage increase their flexibility.

  1. Rolling Stretch

Have you ever performed trunk twists while standing? Another of the programmes in the Rovo mode works on a similar principle. The Rolling Stretch helps to increase the flexibility of the muscles around the lumbar vertebrae, relaxing them through movements that rotate the waist. Airbags placed around the waist play a big part in this specialised massage, but so do leg massagers holding the limbs in place.

  1. Piriformis Relaxation

Anyone who has ever had to deal with a tense the piriformis muscle knows the discomfort and even pain it can cause. Located in the buttocks, the deep muscle, responsible for external rotation at the hip joint, is often underestimated and overlooked during stretching. The stretching programme focusing on the glutes improves the flexibility of this muscle group and relaxes the tension in its area.

  1. PNF Stretch

The PNF Stretch is a programme that effectively activates the muscles of the lower body using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). However, to properly relax the muscles responsible for maintaining posture, it is necessary to follow the voice messages played during the massage. This is the only one of the programmes in Rovo mode that requires direct user involvement.

  1. Rovo Refresh

The Rovo Refresh relaxes the whole body by making slow up and down movements with the legs bent, relaxing tired parts of the body and bringing the user a blissful feeling of lightness. In addition, the kneading and acupressure used in the programme improves circulation and stimulates the production of endorphins, so you will feel like a newborn after your massage session is over.

  1. Rovo Recovery

Feeling overtired? Try the Rovo Recovery! Gentle acupressure concentrated on the neck and waist and a separate movement in the lower body will help to reduce feelings of fatigue, bringing the relief you’ve been waiting for after a hard day, as well as improving your body’s flexibility.

As you can see, each of the programmes in the Rovo mode focuses on different muscle parts, but all of them have a common goal – to relax and improve muscle flexibility. In the video below, you can see exactly how the massage chair mechanisms used in Rovo mode and its other functions work.
