In today’s post, we return to the well-known and popular models: iRest Supearl (A336) and Massaggio Stravagante 2. We will check what characterizes both massage chairs and what are the advantages of one over the other.
Massage system and basic functions
Massaggio Stravagante 2 offers a massage in a 3D system, while iRest Supearl (A336) operates in 2D. This means that the massaging arms of Stravagante 2, besides moving in two planes, also consider the precise shape of the spine and adjust to it. In the Massaggio chair, the strength of the massage provided by the massaging arms can be adjusted in 5 levels. Supearl (A336), on the other hand, works with constant pressure on the body and does not have the option to adjust the massage strength. Stravagante 2 offers a 5-level adjustment of the width of the massage by the arms, while Supearl has 3.
It should be added that iRest leads in the number of automatic programs – it has 12, while Stravagante 2 has 8. However, the Massaggio model uses 11 massage techniques, whereas iRest uses 5. The range of the massage in both chairs is similar: both Stravagante 2 and Supearl offer a massage where the massaging arms move along a contoured guide (SL-shape) from the neck to the thighs.
The advantage is noticeable in the number of airbags in the compared chairs: Massaggio Stravagante 2 has 64 airbags, which looks impressive compared to the 24 airbags of Supearl. Massage with airbags in Supearl is possible in the areas of the calves, forearms, arms, and feet. Stravagante 2, in addition to these areas, also massages the waist, thighs, and hips. It’s worth knowing that in Stravagante 2, it is possible to turn on or off the airbags for the upper or lower parts. In Supearl, the choice is to turn on/off the massage in the area of the arms, legs, and feet, just the arms, or just the legs and feet. The intensity of the massage with airbags in both chairs is adjustable in 3 levels.
Leg massage and heating
The leg and foot massage in the discussed models is another very interesting topic. At first glance, there is a noticeable difference in the footrest itself – Stravagante 2 has a closed footrest, Supearl – an open one, which is significant for people with larger foot sizes – it affects the freedom of using the massager. In the Massaggio model, the footrest extends automatically – it’s adjusted to the height of the user, in Supearl the user extends the footrest themselves. Both chairs have a roller foot massage. The roller foot massage may be adjusted in 3 levels of speed. The rollers in Supearl and Stravagante 2 have protrusions that deeply relax the feet and also stimulate blood flow. A characteristic feature of Supearl is the mechanical calf massage. From the inside, a special mechanism massages on the calves, from the outside – airbags performing a compression massage, and from the back – a roller. In Stravagante 2, calves are massaged from each side with airbags, and in addition, rollers massage them from the back. Stravagante 2 particularly takes care of the Achilles tendons.
An important feature that makes the massage more pleasant is heating. Both Stravagante 2 and Supearl, using a carbon mat, heat the back, and Stravagante 2 additionally heats the calves.
Control and additional features
The models differ in control. Stravagante 2 offers 3 ways of control: through a simple-to-use, classic remote with a display, a handy panel, and also voice commands. Convenient operation of the iRest Supearl model is ensured by a tablet with touch buttons around the screen. In this chair, it is also possible to use voice control in English.
The chairs are equipped with features that enhance user convenience. It’s worth mentioning Zero Gravity – a very pleasant, joint and muscle-relieving position – in Stravagante 2, there are two levels to choose from, in Supearl the massage is performed at one level. Both models have Zero Wall, a functionality that is particularly important in the case of Stravagante 2 – despite its size, it does not need a lot of free space to fully extend and automatically moves away from the wall. Massage sessions in the chairs can be accompanied by music flowing from built-in speakers, thanks to connecting one’s own device via Bluetooth. Stravagante 2 also has 3 memory settings for custom programs. Interesting additions include hand magnetotherapy in Supearl, helping in the regeneration of skin cells, or air ionization available in Stravagante 2. Massaggio Stravagante 2 is equipped with a USB charger, and in Supearl, besides USB, it is possible to charge the phone inductively.
Massaggio Stravagante 2 is available in graphite and beige-graphite colors, and iRest Supearl (A336) – in beige and graphite-black. Supearl also has a version without a foot massager – iRest Supearl Open (A336-31).
