From dreams to majesty
What about the way things started? Zhou Guohai, the brand’s founder, was an entrepreneur trying his hand at various industries. Concerned for the health of his mother, who complained of shoulder and back pain, he decided to try out a massage chair. Delighted with the results, he came up with the idea of creating his own model. Getting fully involved, Zhou Guohai began a series of consultations with experts and practitioners in the field of massage and health. He explored, researched, and sought solutions, and after more than 3 years of preparation, he developed his first massage chair under the iRest brand in 2004.
How did iRest become a global powerhouse? Here are some milestones from the company’s history:
- 2003 – founding of Wenzhou Shengli Health Equipment Co., Ltd, later transformed into IREST HEALTH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD
- 2004 – the first iRest massage chair is introduced to the market, invention of AMS robot massage sleep technology
- 2005 – the brand is registered in China and more than 80 other countries worldwide
- 2007 – the industry’s first comprehensive testing laboratory is created, National Top5 Exporter industry award
- 2008 – first 3D massage mechanism is created, iRest wins Zhejiang Name Brand title
- 2009 – strategic cooperation agreement signed with LG Group
- 2011 – iRest as co-developer of National Standard for household and similar healthy massage chair
- 2013 – 10th anniversary of the company, establishment of the second JiaXing production base in China
