Zero Wall in a massage chair

Knowledge

Although it does not directly affect the quality of the massage, Zero Wall is an extremely useful feature of massage chairs. Why? You’ll find the answer to that question in a moment. We will also explain what the Zero Wall function actually is, how it works and why it differs from one massage chair to another.

Let’s start with a video in which Paweł briefly introduces you to the essence of Zero Wall.

What is the Zero Wall function in massage chairs?

Zero Wall, also known as Zero Space or Auto Slide (in Bodyfriend), does not directly affect the massage, but is extremely practical and contributes to the overall functionality of a massage chair. Thanks to the Zero Wall function, it is possible to move the armchair almost to the wall without saving any space for the lowering backrest. Only a few centimetres of free space behind the armchair (depending on the model) is required for it to automatically unfold – moving away from the wall. In comparison, without the Zero Wall function, it is necessary to leave up to 50 cm of distance between the massage chair and the wall.

Why and how does the Zero Wall vary from one massage chair model to another?

Whether a massage chair has Zero Wall functionality and how many centimetres of clearance it needs from the wall depends on its construction. The most common chairs with Zero Wall functionality need about 10 centimetres of space to fold out. This is a small distance that proves to be extremely useful in rooms with less space. You will find several such models in our range. These are:

However, the Zero Wall has more than one face, so in some massage chairs the distance from the wall can be even shorter. Models that need just 5 cm clearance are:

Interesting fact: One of the chairs in our offer – the Massaggio Piccolo – can be moved practically to the wall, despite the lack of the Zero Wall function. This is because this compact model does not fold out at all, and the massage is performed in a sitting position.

What are the advantages of the Zero Wall function in a massage chair?

As we explained earlier, with the Zero Wall, the massage chair can be moved almost right up to the wall. This way, we gain more space in the room and, in addition, we do not have to limit ourselves to buying smaller models of massage chairs. With the Zero Wall, a larger, more expansive massage chair can take up the same amount of space, or even less! Aesthetic considerations are also important here. A massage chair that doesn’t leave an empty, unused space behind it will blend into the room much better. So unless you plan to put it in the middle of the room, the Zero Wall function can be really useful.

– What does Zero Wall function mean?

It helps you to save space in a room. Let me explain.
Zero wall function is sometimes called Zero space or No space function, and it is about the type of reclining backrest in massage chairs. Models with this function can be placed near to the wall. A gap of 5 cm is enough, because while reclining, the massage chair construction will move away from the wall.

– Is it different from other models?

Yes, models without Zero Wall function require a free space behind them to recline the backrest. It needs about 45 cm between the wall and the massage chair to avoid scraping [srEJ pin] against the wall.

– Is it very important?

It depends on where you intend placing the massage chair. If you put it in the middle of the room, away from the walls, it’s not very important. However, if you don’t have much space, or you want to put it next to the wall, Zero Wall function will work. It will save space even if you get a big model.
