Up to now, there have been numerous articles on our blog explaining how massage chairs work, including their various features. With this post, we return to the basics, which are not necessarily obvious to someone who has no experience with massage chairs. People considering a purchase often ask about an electric massage chair with a remote control<\/strong>. Let us clarify: every massage chair is electric, and every one comes with a remote control.While there isn\u2019t much to explain in terms of the \u2018electricity\u2019 of the chair \u2013 you just need to make sure you set it up near a power socket \u2013 the control of the chair can be done in many ways, not just by remote control. The design of the remote and the functions that can be controlled with it depend<\/strong>, naturally<\/strong>, on the technological sophistication of the model<\/strong>. Many of our chairs can be controlled using two, three or even four methods, so when discussing the different types of control, we\u2019re going to mention individual massage chairs several times.

The world\u2019s first massage chairs that were made at the Fujiiryoki factory in the 1950s were already electric. When switched on, the chair performed a kneading massage and the height of the massaging arms could be adjusted using a crank on the side of the chair. <\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/div>

Let\u2019s get to the point, i.e. the different ways of controlling massage chairs<\/strong>.<\/p>

CONTROLLERS INTEGRATED INTO THE ARMREST<\/h2>

Economical massage chairs that offer basic functions have easy-to-use, uncomplicated\u00a0controllers integrated into the chair<\/strong>. Examples of such chairs is compact\u00a0iRest Easyq<\/a>\u00a0model, which is controlled by a remote control integrated into the armrest. The remote controls of these models are very similar visually and have the indication of activated functions using LEDs in common.\u00a0<\/p>

Two models stand out in our range \u2013 one of them is the Keyton H10<\/a>, a chair equipped with controls integrated into the armrest, allowing management of basic functions (except for the Domo model) and, uniquely, a wireless remote control. The second chair is designed for relaxation zones in public spaces: the iRest R-Pass (T103)<\/a>. Its remote control is positioned on the left side, above the forearm massager. In this case, it also serves as a device enabling quick cashless payments via the Nayax system. During the massage, users can adjust the intensity of the air cushions and the speed of the massage \u2013 the remote displays the current settings as well as the remaining session time.<\/p>

TRADITIONAL CONTROLLERS<\/h2>

The most common way to control massage chairs is by means of a controller, which is connected by a wire to the body of the chair<\/strong>. In the iRest QL\u00a0<\/a> chair, it is a controller without a display, and the change of function is indicated by sound and LEDs. The controls for the iRest Chillin<\/a> and iRest Chillin Open<\/a> \u2013 both are models with simple, intuitive controls, without displays.\u00a0<\/p>

More advanced Massaggio brand chairs (Eccellente 2<\/a>, Eccellente 2 PRO<\/a>) feature classical control panels<\/strong> with displays. Their design and operation are quite similar. The functions that are active and the selected massage parameters are displayed on the screen. Thanks to the navigation keys, switching between settings is easy and intuitive. Selected settings can also be changed without going through the menu of the controller \u2013 for example, extending the massage time or selecting a technique (depending on the model). The layout of the keys on the Massaggio chair controller is well thought out so that the user can easily find main features and adjust the massage parameters to suit their needs.<\/p>

Classical colour-screen control panels<\/strong> are also used to control the chairs: iRest Grandease<\/a>, iRest Queentri (A357)<\/a>, Bodyfriend Phantom Rovo<\/a> and Bodyfriend Phantom Care<\/a>.<\/p>

TOUCHSCREEN CONTROLLERS<\/h2>

The controlers\u00a0 of Fujiiryoki\u2019s model JP3000 looks different. The manufacturer has opted for a combination of the buttons of a traditional controller <\/strong>(basic functions, such as switching on, reclining, heating, etc.) with touchscreen <\/strong>\u2013 it makes it possible, for example, to select an automatic programme or set massage parameters (intensity, position of massaging arms, or focusing the massage on a specific part). This solution lets you access the most frequently used functions quickly, and lets you easily delve into dozens of advanced settings.The controlers\u00a0 of Fujiiryoki\u2019s model JP3000 looks different. TOUCHSCREEN CONTROL<\/h2>

Controlling the latest Fujiiryoki JP4000<\/a> model, other iRest models \u2013\u00a0 Supearl<\/a>, Supearl Open<\/a>, Brillactiq<\/a>, Maesthron<\/a> and two Bodyfriend massage chairs \u2013 Davinci<\/a> and Quantum<\/a>, is different. All come equipped with a touch panel<\/strong> or rather two types of it.<\/p>

The Supearl and Supearl Open chairs have controllers with touch-sensitive buttons<\/strong> arranged around a colour display. Brillactiq, Maesthron, Davinci, Quantum and JP4000, on the other hand, are controlled by a panel with the entire surface sensitive to touch<\/strong>.<\/p>

In these chairs, the arrangement of the buttons depends on the current interface screen being displayed. This is a very convenient way of control: despite the abundance of functions, it\u2019s easy to move from one menu setting to another, each screen is intuitive, clear and easy to understand<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>

CONTROL WITH DEDICATED APPLICATION<\/h2>

Another way to control is via a mobile app<\/strong> that can be installed on your smartphone. The chair that offers this kind of control is iRest Maesthron<\/strong> \u2013 the most advanced model, not only because of all the features, but also because of the control possibilities. Controlling the chair\u2019s operation is possible through an app using iRest\u2019s proprietary software<\/strong>.<\/p>

Essential functions in more technologically advanced chairs can also be controlled using a handy built-in panel<\/strong> placed near the hands massager. This is a convenient way to change basic settings or quickly switch the chair on\/off. Depending on the model, you can adjust the position of the backrest or footrest, turn on the heating, increase or decrease the massage intensity or activate the voice control.<\/p>

CONTROL BY VOICE COMMANDS<\/h2>

Finally, we are moving away from all kinds of controllers. Some of the chairs also offer a function to use specific voice commands<\/strong>. This makes it very easy in terms of control \u2013 you don\u2019t have to take your hands out from between the massage airbags to use the controller and change the settings. This type of control is found in the Massaggio<\/strong> chair: Stravagante 2, iRest: Queentri,<\/strong> Brillactiq, Grandease, Supearl, Supearl Open and Maesthron<\/strong>. As we mentioned previously, this function can be activated by pressing a button on the built-in panel, or by saying the command \u201cHi Alice\u201d. Once you hear the response \u201cI\u2019m here\u201d, you can start issuing commands in English.
