To explain what the stretching function of the massage chair is, during our conversations with clients we most often refer to the memory of morning, lazy dragging just after the awakening. When you start this automatic program, you will experience a similar, extremely relaxing effect. To learn more about the stretching function in the massage chair and the benefits of it, read the following article.
Press articles, online publications or even spending time at the gym provide a lot of information about the beneficial effects of stretching on the human body and psyche. But let’s start from the beginning… What exactly is this stretching? There are many definitions, but all of them say that it is a specially designed sequence of motions, the purpose of which is to stretch and relax individual muscle groups.
First of all, stretching is an extremely relaxing function which relaxes and stimulates the endorphins and reduces stress levels. However, systematic stretching also brings with it many benefits for the human body, whose range of movements changes with age.
It makes muscles more flexible, strengthens tendons and increases mobility of joints, which results in a better coordination. Stretching also relieves stiffness and neck pain, so it is recommended for people who spend most of their time in one position. This is also one of the most common recommendations of personal trainers as stretching perfectly relaxes tightened muscles.
And at this point we come to the stretching program in the massage chair.
We know, that for some people stretching of the body could be associated with the medieval tortures :-) so we explain that this has nothing to do with massage chairs. So how does stretching look like in a massage chair? Once the appropriate automatic program is activated, the airbags on the shoulders and legs “wrap” around us, filling up with air, and then the backrest goes down to the lying position with the footrest lowered at the same time. During this time, the massage arms move slowly from the lumbar to the neck, sensitively and gradually stretching the muscles of the back. You can see this in our film about Massaggio Stravagante, rewinding to 1:20.
There are two different ways to use the tension function in massage chairs. The first is the stretching of legs, which you can try out by massaging yourself, for example, in Massaggio Esclusivo. The second method of stretching covers not only the legs, but also the back. Stretching in this form was integrated into the 15-minute automatic programs in Massaggio chairs Stravagante and Conveniente. However, the Japanese chair Fujiiryoki JP1000, which has three different automatic programs offering stretching of the whole body, provides by far the most possibilities related to the stretching function and the whole body. Stretching of the body is definitely one of the most pleasant functions of massage chairs. If you think about a massage chair that has a body stretching program, have a look at our offer or contact us.
